Joseph E. Chase, MD

Joseph E. Chase, M.D. is a Board-Certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. A graduate of Boston College High School, Harvard University, and New York Medical College, Dr. Chase completed surgical residency training at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He then participated in both research and clinical fellowships in orthopaedics at Brigham and Womens Hospital and St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. He graduated from the San Francisco Orthopaedic Residency Program and completed the Harvard/Massachusetts General Sports Medicine Fellowship.

Dr. Chase has been associated with the New England Patriots, the Boston Bruins, and was part of the medical team of the 2004 World Champion Boston Red Sox. He sees patients at several South of Boston locations. He treats all types of sports and athletic injuries, specializing in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgeries of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, and ankle, with a goal of getting all patients and athletes back to their previous levels of activity.

Dr. Chase, a resident of Hingham, enjoys spending time with his family and attending athletic events. He is the the Orthopaedic Surgeon for the Brockton Rox, a professional baseball team. He also serves as Team Physician and School Physician for Boston College High School, as well as the Team Physician for Hingham High School. He is also actively involved in treating athletes at Wentworth College in Boston, MA. He enjoys boating and seashore activities.
